~No Love For A Prince~

My feet ache, my heart pounding against my chest.  The wind stings my face and the sand splashes up into my wounds each time I make a step.  I stumble and fall, but always get back up and continue my lonely march across the great sand dunes and past the gleaming pyramids and the brightly colored Sphinx.  The heat is horrid, creating small beads of sweat across my brow and causing me to thirst so much more for the precious water that runs through my homeland.  Buzzards circle and watch my every movement, waiting, expecting me to drop dead any moment.  I watch as merchants riding camel trot past me, acknowledging my existence, but not knowing who I truly am, they keep going, leaving a helpless soul lost in the great Egyptian desert.

I came from the valley of the Kings and journeyed all the way to Cairo.  My feet ache, my heart pounding against my chest.  The wind stings my face and the sand splashes up into my wounds each time I make a step. I keep my steady pace, glowing eyes still fixed on the horizon, watching as the sun slowly set on this long day of bloodshed and murder.  I am a warrior, returning home after witnessing the long struggle against the Romans and other invaders.  The bodies that laid out my path were being picked at by the buzzards or being roasted in the deserts’ heat, causing a great stink wafting through the air.  It was a horrible place for anyone.

I made my way home after a long battle.  My feet ache, my heart pounding against my chest.  The wind stings my face and the sand splashes up into my wounds each time I make a step.  The stench of rotting bodies has lifted, yet still clung loosely to my tan skin, hanging there like leech, sucking the life from me.  I came from the valley of the Kings and journeyed all the way to Cairo.  Cairo….The city seemed to light up as darkness fell upon the great motherland.  I could see candle light in the homes of many, and the tall, mighty flames of the large palace that rose above all.  I heaved a heavy sigh as I dropped my weapon and shield at the city gates, breaking into a run towards the great limestone palace.

I made my way home after a long battle.  My feet ache, my heart pounding against my chest.  The wind stings my face and the sand splashes up into my wounds each time I make a step.  I came from the valley of the Kings and journeyed all the way to Cairo.  My feet stumbled, but I kept going, my long, hazel hair tied up in a black ribbon, trailed behind me as I ran up those smooth marble steps and up to my father. My Pharaoh.  I stopped and smiled…He frowned and struck me.  The red whip mark of my father showing cleaning over my chest.  He pointed.  I left.  Banished from my home…my Cairo…The first ever banished Prince of Egypt…Tripz, the disgrace.

I was unaware he was Egyptian. Or a banished prince.

Can you do me a favor and tell me what you think of my attempt at writing song lyrics. I know you're watching me, so it should be under the deviations list.

Yar, hes' Egyptian and a banished prince.

Sure. I might have to look at them tomorrow or, if I can stay up, later tonight, I'm typing up an outline of WH.
